Hillam Village

oldhillam

In 1811 Hillam had a total of 60 farms in the Parish.

In 1935 the number was down to 17 farms.

In the year 2003 there were only 6 farms left in Hillam.  Of these four have re-located out onto the edges of the village.  Two of the farms are involved in pig rearing, one hires out heavy lifting equipment and one has diversified into the animal feeds business. Crops such as wheat, barley, potatoes, oil seed rape and sugar beet are grown around the village.
