Featuring historical notes on 23 village locations, and illustrated with a specially commissioned map and 12 drawings by local artists, the leaflet describes a choice of walks around Hillam. From the map the walker can choose a route making it as long or short as they wish.

EXPLORING HILLAM was launched at the Community Centre, Monk Fryston, at 3.30 pm on Sunday 16th October by Hillam artist Ralph Atkins. Monk Fryston Art Club also set up an exhibition focusing on local scenes. The Art Club presented prizes for the Hillam News children's colouring competition.
